Yulia Sonlleva was born in the city of Sievierodonetsk (Ukraine) in 1969. She studied art at the Institute of Fine Arts in Kiev.
In the 1990s she decided to go to Spain where she spent a season and studied with the great masters, completing their training and making contact with some galleries in Madrid.
Sonlleva has had three solo exhibitions in Madrid. Many of her works draw from the landscapes and corners of Spain.
