YOHANNA WANDA DAVAN (France)
Yohanna Wanda Davan was born in Paris, 1958. Her first love was classical dance. Davan was a member of the prestigious Paris National Ballet, Roland Petit’s National Ballet, and the Rhin National Ballet.
In 1986, she found herself being pulled in another artful direction that was painting. Davan’s first exposure was painting the back drops for the Rhin National Ballet and Ballet of Monte-Carlo.
Davan’s love of bold, bright colors and detail found their way onto the petit format or small canvases of her naïve-primitif paintings. Her once large canvases for the backdrop of the Ballet have turned into picturesque scenes of Paris and the surrounding areas of France. She belongs to a small circle of naïve painters in Paris, including the internationally renowned artist, Pierre Chandelier.
In 1997, Davan began exhibiting her paintings in Paris and in the United States. She has won the eye of many private collectors.
We at Chetkin Gallery are pleased to present her paintings.
